H1N1 Update

Centre For Health Care physicians are following CDC and local public health guidelines.  When the vaccine becomes available, we will communicate this to our patients.  As anticipated, the high risk* Centre patients will be vaccinated first. At this time, we do not anticipate offering the vaccine to the public.  If you are taking care of a sick person in your home, please click here.
In the mean time, per the CDC, there are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
  • Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
  • Also, try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  • If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
The following resources may be helpful (please click):  Pediatric or Adults.  Further information can be also be obtained at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/.

If you are not a patient of Centre For Health Care, please contact your primary care physician or call 2-1-1 for information regarding where the flu vaccine is available in your community.

Please check back regularly for updates.
